What good interpretation requires
Interpretation is not translation. It requires a different skill set, real-time cognitive load management, and an understanding of the specific procedural context in which the interpretation is occurring. A USCIS interview has rules about how the interpreter may interact with the officer and the applicant. A deposition has procedures around how corrections to the record are handled. A medical consultation requires the ability to manage terminology and emotional content simultaneously.
Our interpreters are experienced in the specific settings they are assigned to. Legal interpreters have worked in law firms, courts, or government agencies. Medical interpreters have healthcare backgrounds. Corporate interpreters have experience in executive and business settings.
Settings we cover
We provide interpretation for the following:
- Depositions: civil and criminal, domestic and cross-border, via Zoom or in-person
- USCIS interviews: green card, citizenship, asylum, visa, and benefit interviews
- EOIR immigration court hearings: removal proceedings, bond hearings, appeals
- Federal and state court hearings and trials
- Medical consultations, clinical interviews, and disability evaluations
- Psychiatric evaluations for immigration and court proceedings
- Business negotiations and executive meetings
- HR proceedings: disciplinary hearings, workplace investigations, performance reviews
- Insurance examinations and claims interviews
- Arbitration and mediation proceedings
Remote and in-person options
Remote interpretation is available via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or phone. We coordinate directly with opposing counsel, the court reporter, or the platform host to ensure the interpretation is set up correctly and the record is captured properly.
In-person interpretation is available in Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and surrounding areas. For in-person bookings, travel time is factored into the session rate.
Sessions are booked with a two-hour minimum. Cancellations within 24 hours of the session are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Call (516) 882-7542 for urgent or same-day bookings.
